Senator George W. Della and Delegates Brian K. McHale, Peter A. Hammen, and Carolyn Krysiak of the 46th. Legislative District, work very closely to bring about economic viability and growth to the area that they serve. They exemplify teamwork by achieving consensus and producing positive results for the neighborhoods and the State.     Legislators, like their counterparts in the private sector, have overall responsibility for the performance of their "organizations". Working with other legislators, they set goals and organize programs to attain them. Local Senators and Delegates are truly interested in what their constituents have to say and lend an ear to their community.     Legislators carry out a number of other important functions, such as meeting with local government administrators and local business owners to determine the level of support for proposed programs. In addition, they often nominate citizens to boards and commissions, encourage business investment, and promote economic development in their communities. To do all of these varied tasks effectively, Senator Della and Delegates McHale, Hammen and Krysiak rely on a staff of dependable assistants to research issues and handle daily operations that concern the public. Legislative Assistant Melinda Hamilton is also available in the office Monday through Friday 9am-5pm. The office at 801 Light Street is the operating center for the accomplishments of the joint efforts of these very active, effective local politicians.      The Maryland General Assembly is in session from the 2nd Wednesday of January to the 1st Monday in April for a ninety day Legislative Session. Senator George W. Della serves on The Senate Finance Committee which handles issues dealing with Banking, Insurance, Credit, The Utilities, and Racing. Delegate Brian K. McHale serves on the House Economic Matters Committee which handles issues dealing with Health Insurance, Real Estate and Housing, Unemployment Insurance, and Workers Compensation.     The 46th. Legislative District enjoys the services of a full time state senator in George Della. Delegate McHale is employed as a longshoreman and handles his legislator duties concurrently.
